    About University College London

    UCL was founded in 1826 as the 'University of London,' making it the first university in England to admit students regardless of race, class, or religion. It was also the first to admit women on equal terms with men. UCL was a co-founder of the University of London and has been at the forefront of progressive education for nearly two centuries. Mahatma Gandhi studied law at UCL in the 1880s.
